A further quartet of individuals are now under arrest within the framework of the continuing probe into the recent robbery of precious jewellery at the Louvre Museum, according to the Parisian legal officials.

Particulars of the Most Recent Apprehensions

Two male suspects, in their late thirties, and two women, aged 31 and 40, were arrested on Tuesday. They all reside in the greater Paris area.

Among them is believed to be the final member of a quartet of thieves that is said to have performed the broad-daylight robbery, as reported by media sources in France. The remaining trio accused perpetrators are already in custody and indicted, officials say.

Law enforcement has been granted up to 96 hours to interrogate the suspects. Not a single clue has yet been uncovered of the taken jewelry - valued at €88m (£76m; $102m) - which disappeared on the nineteenth of October.

Earlier Indictments and Disavowals

Four people have already been indicted over the heist - three men and a woman, who similarly reside within the Paris region.

A woman in her late thirties was charged earlier this month with aiding organized theft and criminal conspiracy aimed at perpetrating an offense.

Additionally, a 37-year-old male, was accused of theft and criminal conspiracy.

Both of these individuals, who have not been named publicly, have disavowed any participation.

The Method of the Robbery Was Carried Out

The heist happened when the group of four men employed a hijacked vehicle with a mounted lift to breach the Galerie d'Apollon by means of a balcony close to the River Seine.

The thieves utilized a circular saw to crack open display cases housing the jewellery.

The thieves were inside for a mere four minutes and executed their getaway on two scooters positioned externally at 9:38 AM, before switching to cars.

One of the stolen items - a crown - was fallen in the flight but eight additional pieces of jewellery - including an emerald-and-diamond necklace that Emperor Napoleon presented to his empress, the Empress Marie-Louise - were stolen.

Safeguarding Deficiencies and Fallout

Officials have revealed that the heist was carried out by petty criminals rather than organised crime professionals.

Soon following the robbery, it was announced by the Louvre leadership that the sole surveillance camera monitoring the Galerie d'Apollon was facing opposite the balcony scaled by the robbers to commit the burglary.

The museum's president has later confessed that the museum had failed in its duties, but denied that security had been overlooked - saying that from the time she took office in the year 2021 she had been warning constantly of the requirement for additional resources.

Enhanced Safeguarding Protocols

In the wake of the robbery, safeguarding procedures have been tightened around French heritage sites.

The Louvre has transferred numerous highly prized jewelry items to the national bank after the theft.
